{"item":{"status":"visible","url":"\/2011\/09\/30\/time-to-impeach-obama\/","trash":"","name":"time-to-impeach-obama","parent":"","title":"Looks like it's time to impeach Obama","date":"2011-09-30 11:25:56","filepath":"posts\/2000679_time-to-impeach-obama.xml.json","type":"post","content":"Obama signed the death warrant for\u00a0Anwar al-Awlaki and ordered the assassination. \u00a0Now that <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052970204138204576602301252340820.html\" target=\"_blank\">Anwar al-Awlaki was killed<\/a> in a drone attack, Obama has\u00a0committed\u00a0a crime by not abiding by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Due_process\" target=\"_blank\">due process<\/a>, which is part of our <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fifth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution\" target=\"_blank\">Bill of Rights<\/a>... something Obama swore to uphold and protect.\n\nTherefore the impeachment process can begin for our president. \u00a0Obama committed a crime and should be held accountable for it. \u00a0It is the law of our land and he decided to disobey it.\n\nThe following is an email I sent my Senators and\u00a0Representatives\u00a0in the US Congress (Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein) pleading for impeachment.\n<blockquote>Summary: Obama committed a crime by signing a death warrant and the assassination an American citizen without trial. \u00a0This is grounds for impeachment. \u00a0Please begin the process.\n\nAnwar al-Awlaki was a bad person, but he was an American citizen that has a right to due process. \u00a0The drone attack which killed him is simply an assassination and Obama, who took responsibility for the act by signing the death warrant and ordering the attack, should be held accountable.\n\nI love my country not because of the leadership, but because of the ideals and principles it is founded on. \u00a0When our nation no longer obeys and protects the citizenry's civil rights, our nation is no longer legitimate. \u00a0It then becomes a different country and looses the ability to improve the world by spreading the principles of freedom, liberty, and democracy. \u00a0The country will no longer be a champion of the free world, but instead becomes a hypocritical tyrant.\n\nPlease defend our country and hold those that commit crimes accountable, even those in high office.\n\nPlease impeach Obama, whom I gravely regret voting for in the previous election.\n\nThe Democrats need to get another candidate for the next election because I will not vote for Obama and there is no possible way I can vote for the GOP.\n\nThank you.<\/blockquote>\nAs an independent voter, I have never felt as\u00a0disillusioned\u00a0as I do now. \u00a0The Republicans have <strong>lost <\/strong>my vote for good and the Democrats are <strong>failures<\/strong> and act just like the Republicans."}}
