margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=&l=as2&o=1&a=B00102FF7U&camp=217145&creative=399349\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>).\n\nThe animation style appears older (much like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00007JZW5\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=zygmy-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=B00007JZW5\">Lupin<\/a><img style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=&l=as2&o=1&a=B00007JZW5&camp=217145&creative=399349\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> but cleaner), which is good since it doesn't rely on cgi and focuses on character movement\u00a0reminiscent\u00a0of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B004DMIISM\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=zygmy-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=B004DMIISM\">FLCL<\/a><img style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=&l=as2&o=1&a=B004DMIISM&camp=217145&creative=399349\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/>.\n<!--more-->\n\nSimon is a young drill worker in a mine village who uncovers a mech while tunneling. \u00a0He has the youthful uncertainty which evaporates as Simon learns his ability and his place in the world.\n\n[caption id=\"attachment_32\" align=\"alignright\" width=\"158\" caption=\"Gurren Lagann\"]<a href=\"http:\/\/www.8bitrobot.com\/media\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Gurren_Lagann.jpg\"><img class=\"size-medium wp-image-32 \" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Gurren_Lagann\" src=\"http:\/\/www.8bitrobot.com\/media\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Gurren_Lagann-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"Gurren Lagann\" width=\"158\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a>[\/caption]\n\nKamina is a bull headed brother figure and mentor to Simon and takes pride in helping Simon develop. \u00a0He brings the majority of the humor due to his overblown ego and dangerously bold character. \u00a0His since of group is strong and serves to define and bring the main characters together.\n\nYoko is a female warrior who is animated in a quirky sexual way. \u00a0Her tiny bikini, plus size\u00a0bosom, and fit body\u00a0movement call attention to physical attraction while poking fun at over-sexualized entertainment. \u00a0The satire is executed so\u00a0discretely\u00a0the viewer can't help but smile about how odd and enjoyable her character is.\n\nEnjoyable excerpt: \"Get a move on it thunder thighs,\" says Kamina with his nose almost touching Yoko's posterior while they crawl through a tunnel.\n\nI wrote this having not yet watched episode 2. \u00a0So, there's a definite possibility the show will go down hill. \u00a0It's hard to top the first episode. \u00a0One concern is the show becoming repetitive and cease to focus on character development by spending most of the show on mech battles.\n\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.8bitrobot.com\/media\/uploads\/2011\/05\/simon.jpg\"><img class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-35\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Simon\" src=\"http:\/\/www.8bitrobot.com\/media\/uploads\/2011\/05\/simon.jpg\" alt=\"Simon\" width=\"150\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a>We'll see how the rest of Gurren Lagann\u00a0turns out...\n\n<em>watch on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/gurren-lagann\" target=\"_blank\">Hulu.com<\/a><\/em>\n\n<em>watch on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netflix.com\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix.com<\/a><\/em>\n\n<em>buy the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003P3PQNA\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=zygmy-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=B003P3PQNA\">Gurren Lagann Series<\/a><img style=\"border: none !important;
